No sign-up, no ads, and no third-party analytics. Your games, stats, and settings stay on your iPhone.
If you purchase Pro, Apple and RevenueCat process the receipt to validate your purchase.
If you sign in to Game Center, your results are sent to Apple's leaderboards.
1. How the app works
Color Clue is a logic game where you crack a secret color code. The app stores your games, stats, daily challenge progress, streaks, and preferences in local iOS storage (UserDefaults using JSON encoding). Progress, scoring, and statistics calculations are performed on-device. The exception is leaderboards: if you sign in to Game Center, your results are sent to Apple's service.
2. Data we process
On your device (not sent to us)
- Game progress (the code for the current game, attempts made, and result).
- Statistics (daily challenge and classic games played and won, streaks, best scores, points, and daily activity).
- Preferences (language, color palette, difficulty, haptics, and daily challenge reminder).
- Derived metrics (totals and progress by difficulty).
In-app purchases
- Purchases are processed by Apple. We do not receive or store your payment method, name, or email.
- Apple issues an encrypted receipt used to validate your Pro status.
RevenueCat (purchase management)
RevenueCat validates App Store purchases. It may process:
- An anonymous App User ID generated by the SDK.
- App Store receipts and purchase metadata (product, purchase date, status).
- Minimal technical data required for operations and fraud prevention (platform, SDK version).
We do not send personal identifying data (such as name or email) to RevenueCat. See the RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
Apple App Store
Payments and billing are handled by Apple. See the Apple Privacy Policy.
Game Center (leaderboards)
The app uses Game Center, Apple's service, for leaderboards and rankings. It is optional and only activates if you sign in to Game Center. In that case it may process:
- Your Game Center player identity (the ID and alias assigned by Apple).
- The scores, times, and achievements submitted to the leaderboards.
We do not receive or store additional personal data through Game Center. Its processing is governed by the Apple Privacy Policy. If you do not sign in, no score is sent.
3. What we do NOT do
- We do not use advertising trackers or sell data to third parties.
- We do not access your photos, contacts, location, or personal device content.
- We do not require account creation to use the app.
4. Data retention and control
- Local data remains until you uninstall the app or use reset options in Settings.
- Purchase records are retained by Apple/RevenueCat according to their own policies.
- iCloud backups (if enabled) are managed by Apple.
5. Security
Local data is protected by iOS security mechanisms. Communication with Apple and RevenueCat is encrypted (HTTPS).
6. Children’s privacy
The app is intended for a general audience and is not designed to collect personal data from children under 16.
7. Legal bases (GDPR/UK GDPR)
- Service performance: to provide the game features and progress tracking.
- Legitimate interest: to validate purchases and prevent fraud.
8. Your rights
If you are in the EU/EEA, UK, or similar jurisdictions, you may request access, correction, deletion, or portability of your data.
- You can delete local data from within the app or by uninstalling it.
- You can manage purchase history directly through your Apple ID.

9. International transfers
RevenueCat may process receipts in the United States or other countries using appropriate legal safeguards when required. Apple processes payments under its own terms.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect feature, provider, or legal changes. We will publish the current version with an updated date.
